Prosecutor says São Fidélis did not adhere to privatization.

The joint committee included Hélio Anomal, Josemar Violante, and two female representatives.

Hoping to finally establish a dialogue with Mayor Amarildo Alcântara, the population of São Fidélis, together with the Sanitation Workers Union - Staecnon/RJ, prepared a breakfast in front of the city hall, awaiting the mayor's arrival, to discuss the sale of the municipality's water supply.

The act this Monday was a result of the event that occurred last Friday (October 22nd), when the population and the union, during a popular demonstration, were at the city hall and were unable to speak with the mayor, under the pretext that there would be no work due to the cleaning of the city hall building.

This morning, the protesters were received by the city attorney and the chief of staff, through a committee composed of the directors of Staecnon/RJ, Hélio Anomal and Josemar Violante, as well as two women representing the population of Fidelis.

During the meeting, the prosecutor informed that the mayor did not sign the privatization of Cedae, but rather a technical feasibility study. The prosecutor committed to scheduling a new meeting as soon as possible to continue the discussion of the matter. He also said that any decision will only be made after discussion with the Union and with society. It is worth noting that the union directors presented several alternatives for the municipality to retain the public service.
