Unions and workers mobilized for another collective action in favor of a public Cedae (Rio de Janeiro State Water and Sewerage Company) and the approval of Bill 4894/21, which aims to utilize Cedae employees within the Rio de Janeiro State Government. The demonstration took place on Wednesday afternoon (April 3rd) at the new ALERJ (Rio de Janeiro State Legislative Assembly) building and was attended by hundreds of Cedae employees.

Authored by Representative Gustavo Schmidt, Bill 4894/21 has the support of several parliamentarians who signed as co-authors of the bill. After being presented, the bill was approved by all committees, will undergo amendments, and will then proceed to a vote. The session was held in a semi-virtual format and was attended by 69 parliamentarians.

The strong presence of the workers was fundamental in demonstrating collective strength, and was a determining factor in securing a favorable decision for Cedae employees who have been suffering genuine harassment in their work routines.

Vice-President Josemar Violante congratulated the colleagues from the interior of the state who were present, giving a great demonstration of strength by traveling more than 600 kilometers to participate in the event.
