New board of directors of Staecnon takes office for the four-year period 2021/2025
The new board of directors of Staecnon/RJ, one of the most important organizations defending the category in the interior of the State of Rio de Janeiro, was sworn in this Friday afternoon (February 26). The solemn ceremony took place at the union headquarters in Campos dos Goytacazes, complying with the necessary criteria required by law for the prevention of Covid-19.
Those present at the event, comprising the main table, included the director of Cedae Saúde, Sandoval Gomes de Sena Neto; regional managers Ranieri Felisberto, Fernando Arruda, and Marcioni de Alvim Letieri; the Secretary of Public Security of Campos, Councilor Alonsimar Oliveira; union representative José Maria Rangel; as well as lawyers Dr. Júlio César Cordeiro and Dr. Daniele Ribeiro representing the OAB Campos (Brazilian Bar Association, Campos chapter).
The ceremony was opened and conducted by the representative of the Campos Bank Workers' Union, Hugo Diniz, who then gave the floor to the president of the electoral commission, Sérgio Borges, who thanked all the collaborators involved in the electoral process and emphasized the importance of the democratic process in building a more egalitarian society. Vice-President Josemar Violante Cordeiro, speaking next, called on society to take responsibility for preserving water sources and the environment, also highlighting the dangers of privatizing sanitation and the importance of the union in the lives of workers, in addition to thanking everyone for their support.
The inauguration was formalized by CUT National executive member Vitor Carvalho, who highlighted the major challenges facing the new board, especially the intensification of the struggle against the attempted privatization of Cedae, as well as the responsibility of defending the interests of workers in private companies.
Closing the ceremony, President Hélio Anomal greeted the women present, represented by his wife Cristina Anomal, and the representative of Prece, Dr. Luiz Augusto Ururahy Póvoa. Through the mention of Cantideo Rodrigues da Silva's name, he honored the numerous comrades who were once on the front lines, thanked the people who contributed to the electoral process, and acknowledged that each worker cast their vote, participating democratically in building an increasingly active and combative union.

I assume this responsibility with courage, willingness, with the same strength and determination as 35 years ago, always defending the category and fighting social injustices.” – Said Hélio Anomal.
Beginning his union career in 1986, Hélio Anomal was a pioneer in various struggles in defense of water and public sanitation, standing out as one of the most active union leaders among labor organizations.
Also present were the president of the Campos Bank Workers Union, Rafaneli Alves Pereira; the director of the Bank Workers Union, Ricardo Azevedo; the president of Stieennf, Otacílio de Sousa Júnior; and the president of the Chemical Workers Union, Carlos Antônio; the designer Luciano Silva; as well as the accountant, Sônia Letícia; and the vice-mayor of Laje do Muriaé, Araceli de Rezende. The decoration was the responsibility of the event planner Sidinho Ramos, who professionally transformed the space into a welcoming environment for the proposed event.
