Today was another day of mobilization and confrontation against the privatization of water. Staecnon/RJ called on the entire population of Itaperuna and its workers for a large public demonstration, marching through the city streets and denouncing the significant losses for the municipality should Cedae (the water and sewage company) be privatized. The demonstration continued to the city hall where the protesters, after forming a committee, were received by prosecutor Samuel Portela Tinoco. The event was attended by councilman Glauber Bastos, blogger Jonas, and union leaders Hélio Anomal, Josemar Violante, Fernando Soares, Nivaldo Marques, and Robson Ventura.

The meeting was very productive, where the representatives had the opportunity to provide a series of important information for decision-making. In turn, prosecutor Samuel Portela expressed full interest and concern regarding the points raised by the commission, committing to bring them to the mayor's attention, including the union's request for a meeting as soon as possible. At the end of the meeting, minutes were drawn up, formalizing everything that was agreed upon.

This Friday (October 22nd), Staecnon/RJ will be holding another public event in the municipality of São Fidélis, in the square in front of the bus station, at 10 am. Let's join together in another fight to prevent Mayor Amarildo Alcântara from selling the water to private companies.
