Union appeals to the courts and wins injunction suspending shift change at Rio+Saneamento.

STAECNON-RJ, in partnership with SINTSAMA-RJ and SINDÁGUA-RJ, achieved an important legal victory in defense of the category. Responding to the unions' request, the court granted an injunction immediately suspending the change in the work schedule of employees at Rio+Saneamento's commercial stores.

Without any dialogue or prior notice, the concessionaire attempted to unilaterally impose a new work schedule. This action was considered irregular for two main reasons:
01 - Unilateralism: The change was made without any consultation or negotiation with the category.
02 - Disrespect for the Collective Bargaining Agreement: The maneuver violates the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, occurring even during the negotiation period for the new Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As soon as it became aware of the situation, the legal department of STAECNON-RJ acted quickly. The understanding is clear: rights are not taken away, they are respected. The injunction guarantees that the schedule stipulated in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement will be maintained, protecting workers from abrupt changes that directly affect their personal and professional lives.

"Our role is to be the worker's shield. While the end of the 6x1 work schedule is being discussed nationally, Rio+ is going against the grain, wanting to impose Saturday work on retail workers. We will not accept them overriding the collective agreement and the dialogue that should prevail in labor relations," stated Josemar Violante, president of STAECNON-RJ.
